Doug Ford Visits Company that Received FedDev Funding

Although he Rails Against Business Partnerships, Stanpac recently received $4.5 Million from the Federal Government

Monday, May 14, 2018

(Niagara) Today Doug Ford is planning on visiting Stanpac packaging company in Smithville Ontario. Stanpac recently received $4.5 million from the federal government as part of their $45.6 million expansion of their facility. An expansion that will create 50 new jobs in region.

Even though he’s visiting a company that’s expanding and creating jobs Doug Ford opposes these types of partnerships, saying “I’m dead against corporate welfare.” (Ottawa Citizen, March 12th, 2018)

These kinds of partnerships are just one of the many economic strategies that have allowed Ontario to create 1 Million new jobs since the Conservatives left office. They’re also the kind of partnerships Doug Ford said he would end. When he’s at Stanpac today he needs to be clear with the people of Ontario about how damaging his billions of dollars of cuts would be for Ontario’s economy.
