John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South, was nominated earlier today as the Ontario Liberal Party candidate to run for reelection in Ottawa South.
"I'm honoured to be running again to represent the great people of Ottawa South in the Ontario Legislature on Premier Kathleen Wynne’s team" said Fraser. “As MPP for the last four years, I've worked to ensure my community has equitable access to accessible childcare, affordable housing, high quality healthcare, economic opportunity, a living wage and more. Together, we can continue to build on the great work and success we've achieved so far" Fraser added.
John Fraser was first elected as the MPP for Ottawa South in the 2013 by-election and was reelected in 2014. After the 2014 election, John was given a mandate to support the development of a comprehensive strategy for palliative and end-of-life care in Ontario. It is a mandate he asked for and one that he is grateful to have. He has long been guided by the firm belief that how we care for each other at the end-of-life is as important as at the beginning of our lives.
Since taking office, John's focus has been on building up our community and the people who live and work here. John has championed projects like Project Stitch at CHEO, vision screening for children and Rowan's Law. He remains committed first and foremost to bettering the lives of Ottawa South families and supporting the businesses and organizations that support our community.
"We're thrilled that John Fraser will be the Provincial Liberal candidate for Ottawa South given his proven commitment to the people of the community and his track record of delivering results that have measurably improved education, health care, the economy and the environment in Ottawa South" said Dalton McGuinty Jr., President of the Ottawa South Provincial Association.
